The 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health is now accepting submissions to the conference programme. We welcome submissions on issues including tuberculosis (TB) and TB co-infections, tobacco control, lung health and air pollution, as well as civil society initiatives, community engagement, human rights and other related topics.
The Union World Conference, taking place in Seville, Spain, from 21 - 24 October 2020, will focus conversations around the theme of ‘Advancing Prevention’. Prevention is crucial to ending TB, reducing the harm resulting from tobacco use and improving lung health worldwide.
Submit now to be part of the conference programme. The following types of submissions are open:
Please read the guidelines abstract and session submissions carefully before you begin. The deadline to submit is Tuesday, 14 April, with the exception of satellite sessions for which the deadline is Monday, 6 July. Visit https://seville.worldlunghealth.org/

The UMIC in collaboration with the EACCR2 are set to conduct a 3-day Bioinformatics training at UVRI from 6th to 8th April 2020.
This workshop will offer participants the possibility of gaining hands-on experience in the use of the Ensembl genome browser but also provides them with the necessary background information.
Other sister projects at www.ensemblgenomes.org can also be covered if participants are working with bacteria, plants, fungi, protists or (invertebrate) metazoa.
Some of the learning outcomes from this workshop include :
• The view genomic regions and manipulate the view to add features they are interested in.
• Explore information about genes and their sequences, and gene data in bulk using BioMart.
• Analyze genomic variants and associated phenotypes and their own variation data using the VEP.
•View homologous genes and genomic regions, functional elements involved in gene regulation and their activity in different cell types.
Eligibility:
The workshop primarily targets wet-lab researchers, and the course is customized for species of interest and to include total beginners to our browser up through frequent users. Scientists, graduate students, postdoctoral research fellows, and exceptional undergraduates with requisite wet-lab experience and residing in Uganda are invited to apply.
