Aslm2021 Scholarship Programme Applications Closing Soon! – 1 Nov, 2021 Responding To Outbreaks Through Resilient Laboratory Systems: Lessons Learnt From The Covid-19 Pandemic, 15-18 November 2021.

ASLM wants you to be part of our upcoming virtual conference: Responding to Outbreaks through Resilient Laboratory Systems: Lessons Learnt from the COVID-19 Pandemic, 15-18 November 2021.   If you are a student or professional in a low- or middle- income country, you may qualify for the ASLM2021 Scholarship Programme. The scholarship covers the cost of registration and unlocks access to plenaries, symposia, roundtables and more. Speakers will cover hot topics such as the threat of emerging pathogens; the need to strengthen diagnostics services for routine care and emergencies; strategies for diagnostic network optimisation and integration; and pathogen genomics. The conference offers the opportunity to hear from world renown experts on infectious disease control, public health and how the COVID-19 pandemic affected laboratories in Africa and across the globe.

Scholarship applicants must complete the online application by 1 November 2021. Applicants must describe what they hope to gain by attending ASLM2021 and justify their scholarship need. Awards will be made no later than 8 November 2021.

Approaches To Combat Covid-19 In Low- And Middle-Income Countries (Lmics) - 23 November 2021

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has had a devastating toll on the health care systems and communities in low- and middle-income countries. To address and discuss the various challenges that these countries face daily, we invite you to join us for this virtual workshop on Approaches to Combat COVID-19 in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) scheduled on Tuesday, 23 November 2021 at 15:00 CET.
Explore challenges and prevention\treatment strategies uniquely suited to the COVID-19 pandemic in low- and middle-income countries, considering regional differences in access to medications, health system capacity, and public measures.

Registration fees are waived for healthcare professionals,* NGO representatives, advocates, community representatives, and policymakers/government representatives.
*Healthcare professionals are defined as professionals that provide any type of health care service related to COVID-19 or other diseases.
